AN ISOSCELES PAVILION WITH AN ORTHOGONAL ENTRANCE
An apparently closed space with peculiar moments of entrance. An apparently closed shape with no beginning or end. In the moment where it seems to end another shape is created to link the next wall. The scale of the triangle was born taking into account the amount of panels given to the participants and their respective widths.
In an rectangular square with a circular bench and a rectangular statue base we were captivated by the strict geometry of the site, and because of that it drawn us to explore other geometrical shapes. Between four strong facade fronts there wasn’t a lot of opportunity to make a piece that empathised one of them, they are equally substantial. So between the Amós Salvador Room, the Tourist Centre, the Ibercaja Center and the residential building we focused our attention to the inside of the pavilion. We aimed to show the perks of architecture with a modular structure. The pavilion contains the main elements of the square, the Los Marchosos statue and the tree garden and bench. It’s a balance between pavilion and piece. A balance between arquitecture and design.
