L SHAPE HOUSE
The client approached us with a very clear intention of having an L-shaped house with a tiled roof and a swimming pool. Even without initially realizing our clients’ consistent desire for an L-shaped house, we started from this starting point because, in this case, it closed off two fundamental fronts: the street and the North facade.
With that in mind, the typology is structured from the diagonal formed by the intersection point of the L shape, with the main entrance located in a transitional space between the private area of the bedrooms and the social area of the living room/kitchen. The axis is defined inside by the separation of a structural pillar from the wall and outside by the slab that positions the pool on the land. Taking advantage of the maximum legal roof slope, the interior spaces are defined with different geometries, and the hybrid element of the chimney, which also serves as a pillar, is extrapolated. Its section is structurally designed to free the poolside facade from pillars obstructing the glass.
